GARDEN WALLS & EDGING
There’s a heap of research out there indicating us Aussies are spending more time in our outdoor areas than ever before.
That brings us to two great questions! Why are we really loving the great outdoors now and importantly, what can homeowners do to improve their homes, what are the current trends?
More and more people are wanting to make use of their outdoor areas and I think there’s a few reasons for this.
Firstly, we’re blessed with our incredible Australian climate and I think a backyard project is always on the cards. The reason I think it is more popular now is two-fold. Increasing property prices really highlights the value of land and in many homes, this valuable space is often wasted!
We’re seeing a lot of garden wall ideas and garden edging ideas emerging around the home, which is utilizing wasted space. Lots of people looking at garden wall blocks, planter boxes, garden edging blocks and other inspirational garden ideas emerging along property fences or against previously unused corners of the house, which end up being perfect places for herb and veggie gardens! Our range of garden edging and garden wall blocks are perfect for these types of projects!
The other reason is financial as well, with land being so high value and property prices increasing, many people are experiencing a growth in equity in their homes. With the high costs of actually moving, an increasingly popular choice is making this equity work for your family! We’re seeing homeowners use a portion of their equity to create brand new feature areas at home!
Whether it’s a pool, a new courtyard or outdoor kitchen area, all of these projects make good use of space and create great new garden ideas for the family to enjoy!
What are the current trends?
There’s a few standouts, at the top of the list is the Outdoor Kitchen which is the ultimate place to entertain family and friends! The Outdoor Kitchen lends itself to a shared cooking experience and as such, the outdoor kitchen is becoming more than just a BBQ! It’s a beautiful paved area with some raised garden wall blocks, a feature dining piece and some creative lighting. Some of these areas are even plumbed with running water and barbeque stations made of garden wall blocks or besser blocks, which are then painted or decorated in our beautiful range of veneer stone. We’re also seeing an increase in the number of people paving their driveways
You never get a second chance to make a good first impression and the same goes with your home! The driveway takes up such a large percentage of the front of your house that it’s important to make it look good because street appeal is everything! With more variations around colours, sizes patterns and textures, a paved driveway really is the best choice to stand out from the crowd.
